Greenpeace marked the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, with a call for the Philippines to strike out nuclear from all government energy plans. Activists in black cloaks and radioactivity masks held a grim procession to deliver a letter to the Department of Energy. They carried paper lanterns enumerating the world’s 25 worst nuclear disasters of the last 25 years, from Chernobyl, which up to now is still experiencing widespread contamination especially in their food supplies, to Fukushima, where a similar story is now developing.
